Mid-Lakes Corp. Marks 43rd Anniversary
Thursday April 03, 2008
Mid-Lakes Corp., manufacturer of the Loki brand of landing nets, is celebrating its forty-third year in the fishing tackle business. A prime manufacturer of knotless nylon netting, Mid-Lakes Corp. was founded in 1965, but traces its roots back one year earlier when Loki Net Company was formed by Lee J. Stair. An entrepreneur and innovator, Stair developed and marketed many uses for fish netting, and that tradition continues under the leadership of his son, David Stair, company president since 1981. The company's Loki Nets division is a landing net industry leader and innovator, with products such as the MonorailTM mesh-guard system, Tangle-LessTM, the original rubber-coated knotless nylon net, and TechNetTM, a variation of Tangle-Less. "We are the only major landing net company in the United States that actually produces its own netting in-house," David Stair said. "This enables us to be flexible, creative and quicker to respond to customer's needs." In addition to its landing net and bulk netting business, Mid-Lakes serves as a major supplier of netting for a variety of uses, including baseball, golf, football, fisheries research, aquaculture, oil spill containment, agriculture and industrial trades. Loki Nets are sold through wholesale distributors and large retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
